Since the decision to leave the European Union in June, the United Kingdom seems to have become a less desired location for both US and non-EU companies. Luxembourg’s Head of Financial Development, Nicholas Mackel, has told sources there has been ‘strong interest’ from US and non-EU financial organisations in moving their operations to Luxembourg post-Brexit.

Mackel claims many overseas banks and fund management companies are looking at the benefits of moving their London staff to Luxembourg since the UK made the decision to leave the European London. Describing these firms as needing ‘contingency plans’ Mackel suggests that many banks are considering moving some staff to Luxembourg, although not their whole operations.
